Two weeks after…

Thank you all for the many well wishes. Sorry I haven’t been able to respond too quickly. As my one friend put it in an email…”And just like that…it all changes.” That pretty much summed up the last two weeks and I’m sure from here on out.

The first 24hrs was great with all the typical feeling one might expect. As the adreneline starts to wear off and sleep goes from rare to non-existent … the real challenge begins. I always heard from friends about the no sleep thing and I guess I never comprehended what that would be like. The last time I pulled an all-nighter was probably college trying to finish all the art projects I put off till the end of the semester. And that was only a 24hr deal. (And much younger as well). Now, only getting an hour and a half here and there for a total of maybe 4-5 hrs per 24hrs for two weeks….kinda wears you down. It is getting better though as we are past the jaundice thing and mom and son are getting more settled in at home.

    OMG he is so cute! I LOVE that one of Lindsay and him sleeping. Great shot! Thanks for the update, you guys know how us out of towners like to stalk. =) Glad everyone is doing well, and no there is NOTHING like the sleep deprivation. Have to say that I am not looking forward to it in about 8 weeks. Take care and thanks again for posting an update!

    ,,,,,all i can say mike,,,is being a new father is the ‘TRUE’ test of being an Iron Man!! ,,,and if you could finish that feat ,,,you’ll be able to win the ‘race’ of parenthood!
    lindsay,,, your maternal nurturing ,,so shown in the photos of yourself w/ Nolan,,, i know will soothe and comfort those moments when mom NEEDS the nap and little Nolan prefers a spell of being fussy!! ,,Nolan is sooooo precious,,,and i can’t wait to see him in person,,as well as yourselves!
    Mike ,,because you are my nephew,,, i will get the same ‘kick’ out of watching you being a dad as i do watching bradley!! ,,this is when all of the grand-parents,,,aunts and great aunts have ‘fun’ ,,,in only the kindest of ways,,, get a kick watching you all ‘getting it together’ as the ‘older’ generation did with you guys!! ha.
    and again ,,,i write this in the kindest of sentiments and memories on our parts!! ha.

    ,,keep the photos coming ,,,and yes with being from ‘afar’ ,,,it’s nice seeing how the THREE of you are doing,,,and how Nolan continues to grow!
